NEW at least, it was in April 2003....
The babbling brilliance heard around
bubblers and at barstools...
The magic of spin-doctoring is
that if you have enough of it going on at once, no one, not even the
media reporting on the events, can figure out what the hell is going
on. The poster child of spin-doctoring sits in the oval office.
I'm not a big George Bush fan.
I know, suddenly that makes me unpatriotic. It's kind of hard to have
great feelings about a President who would spend $350 Billion on the
military and yet allow it so our teachers still have to have apply
for welfare just to make ends meet.
"Oh, but what about Clinton?
He knew about his terrorist and that terrorist, and 9-11 wouldn't
have happened." Let's put it this way. Bush Sr. was in charge
of the CIA, then he got into office as VP, and suddenly Reagan "doesn't
remember" anything. As the big cheese, Bush Sr. spent a majority
of his presidency hunting down "Sad-ham Hoosayen". The country
stopped picking at that scab during the eight years of the Clinton
presidency, and the week after Sonny boy was in office, we're back
in the Middle East again. Did we all forget that he bombed Saddam
during his first 10 days in office? I am convinced that Bush and Bush
are still in business together. And guess what, a guy who used to
run the CIA should have better trained his son in understanding those
little things called memos that are submitted by field reps. I'm still
not sure which Bush is president.
The Bush Sr. is quoted in Houston
as saying "I've got to be careful I don't overcheerlead on this
economy," when asked about the unemployment issues that the country
was facing. During his campaign, son of a Bush. would repeat that
"we are in a recession" over and over, scaring the hell
out of most businesses to the point that we ended up in a recession.
Go figure. He must know something, his dad used to be the president.
We all know that all politicians are altruistic, and think of their
constituents first and foremost. Right? Riiighhhtt.
Sonny boy said that "We have
a recession, and there is no unemployment". Apparently niether
Bush could be considered the brightest bulb on the tree. At times
I think both of them are aware that if they sound idiotic in quotes,
that we can't possibly view them as a threat. We all know that Clinton
was not exactly Shakespeare, but at least he had the decency to shut
up when he didn't understand a question. It may have been his only
decency, but it was reliable. And when he lied, it was pretty obvious.
Bush lies so many times that he doesn't even know when he's telling
the truth.
We're in a war against terrorism.
Okay, here's the battleground. Women walk down the street, and risk
getting raped after the sun goes down. Children can't play in their
neighborhood parks because there are drug users doing business there.
Pilots need tasers. Teachers can't teach in classrooms because the
teen-age militia has brought guns and knives into the school. Soon,
our local 7-11 may be the truckstop for a nuclear waste truck, driven
by a driver who may not have had much sleep because he has a deadline.
Kids on an overhead bridge drop a rock onto the cab of this truck
and what do you know, the truck crashes and 700 kids die of leukemia
over the next two years. Who are these people who are terrorized daily?
Americans. Right here. We don't need terrorists, we have the government.
All the outsiders need to do is wait a few years, and there won't
be a US left.
Unemployment benefits stop, and
suddenly there are no more unemployed. Guess what? If you have been
looking for work longer than your benefits last, that doesn't mean
you have a job. It means you are uncounted as unemployed. Suddenly
we have a 22% increase in the homeless population. Gee, I wonder why?
Health insurance laws now make
it so that there are over 6000 pre-existing conditions which can prevent
people from having any coverage. Medicaid and Disability don't allow
for nearly all of these conditions, so there are fewer and fewer people
who can apply. So the idea is that the sick people are unable to get
treatment. They die, and hey, look we've solved the problem with disability
and social security. Dead people don't need benefits. Besides, if
we get rid of the poor, we won't have those messy shelters ruining
our cities anymore. Right? Riiiiighhhht.
Money is given to countries we
are spending time bombing. Money is providing school books, medical
care, and food. The US cuts medical spending, cuts school funding,
cuts governmental programs just when we need them. Why? Lack of funds.
Oh well, then where did the money come from that pays for every other
country's needs?
Oh Wait, I'm just whining. I don't
really know anything. Okay, I went to college, on my own dime, taking
out student loans, and working three jobs. I am a veteran of the US
Navy, honorable discharge. As a kid, there was a promise that if you
were good, dedicated, and a hard worker, you'd be considered a valuable
employee, and you would retire from the company after 30 years. HA!!!!!
Our politicians have made it very easy for a company to appear solvent
by allowing the companies to cut staffing by thousands of people at
a time, instead of waking the corporate heads up and reminding them
that this is why we go into a recession. Small business makes up 86%
of all of the employers, but big businesses are the ones who get tax
breaks and governmental breaks. Go figure.
The thing that most bugs me about
Bush is that you can read four different newspaper accounts of the
same event or news briefing in which he speaks, and you will get four
different stories. I don't understand why more media members don't
question his motives. I don't understand why he thinks everyone in
America is an idiot. Do you want a great example of how much Bush
doesn't pay attention to warning signs? Just take a look at the antics
his own daughters have accomplished just to get his attention. They
should speak volumes as to how he is treating the general public.
We're the ones who make up his homeland, but we matter far less than
a corporation which may give him money in his next campaign.
Do I believe in term limits? YES.
Do I vote? YES. Am I a registered Democrat? NO, I'm a non-partisan,
and I will not align myself with any political party. I don't vote
for a home team rep, I vote for what people have done for the community.
Do I feel like we as a country are trapped by the herd mentality?
Yep. Absolutely. If enough independent thinkers made their opinions
known, then perhaps things will change. Until then ... start investing
in bullet proof vests people, the war is coming home, and its going
to start with our own neighbors not with any other country.
Next time... let's chat about the media,
shall we??
