Improv
and Stand Up Instructor, Cathe B
As
a Boston born-comedian, Cathe
knew she was in trouble when Denis Leary handed her a microphone
and said, "For every minute you make'em laugh I'll give you
a dollar, but don't go over ten, because I hate greedy people."
Fortunately, she earned that sawbuck, and never looked back.
From
Boston, to the now defunct Santa Monica Second City, Cathe B kept
people laughing. Keeping her topics about her beloved hometown
Boston Red Sox, or on the days spent re-learning how to use her
vocal chords after a tumor removal from her throat, Cathe gained
a reputation as a woman comic who could keep up with the guys
whom she toured with on the road. She filmed several pilots for
Fox-TV, spots for MTV, A&E, and several Canadian television
talk shows. She finally gave up living in Los Angeles when she
realized, she enjoyed writing for herself, and helping other people
live their dreams more.
Cathe
was well known to many for her radio show on Premiere Networks,
and for her long-time run with Pat & Mike, as their "Internut
Spokesperson" pointing out the bizarre web world bits and
pieces from 1994 until 1998.
For
the last few years of her career, Cathe spent time in Las Vegas
working with Carole Montgomery, Kathleen Dunbar, and Joni Grasse
in the city's first all women comedy revue at The Greek Isles.
The show ran for several years, to great reviews. Her book, "Godless
Grief" is due out 2008, and "I'm Just As Screwed Up
As You Are" is next up on the horizon.
