Rolling On
You're up late at night hoping that no one hears you
Not even your sleepiness will get near you
But you just can't get that one last chord
so you try finishing a letter before you get too bored
And the night turns to dawn
Yesterday is forever gone
and the dawn she keeps rolling on
You finally awake and take in the warmth of the day
The song dancing in your head won't stay
It's beautiful on paper as you write it on the page
And your tape recorder becomes the stage
And the dawn turns to night
daytime is well out of sight
so you play to the full moon light
