It's deep n dark n blue

This little collection is based on the times Cathe spent living on the streets of NYC, and on meds, and all of the other cheerful events. Probably one of the best written of the spoken shows, this work reveals wit, dark humor, and a bite into the weirdness she is best known for.

Letters to Henry

Okay, you've done it. I've done it. Hell, Madonna always does it. It's hero worship. sort of... these are a collection of letters sent to Henry Rollins. They could have been sent to (INSERT YOUR FAVORITE CELEBRITY NAME), but who has that address???? Anyhow. Mildly erotic in a neurotic kind of way, this book also has "SATURDAY", the most requested of Cathe's readings.

Diary of a Ninth Grader

This is actual materials taken from school papers, diaries, and notebooks written in the late 70's and early '80's. It's a great way to close a generation gap. Surprisingly, it seems that there is a quite adult revelation in the piece that describes a kidnapping which occured while she was 15.

Talking to the Folks Book One

This is the first of three books that were written as a compilation of spoken works that include Saturday. Male, Genus is opening piece.

Talking to the Folks Compilation Books 2 and 3

The second and third of the spoken work compilation includes a very detailed description of her trek across country.

Been to Bed with the Battery Boys

Battery Boys is one of the more uneven books. It was the first spoken show after the Earthquake in L. A. in 1994. There are some good pieces, despite the inconsistency.

opening caskets

This was written during a very deep depression in 1994. Not a funny story, but has some very endearing moments.

20/20 Amour Heindzeidt

This is the author's personal favorite. It is humorous, horny, and pretty irreverent. There is not much that would interest a self righteous, homogenous, religious zealot, dickhead who can't handle a few choice descriptions of sexual innuendo. But for everyone else, it is a great example of what CB does on the road tours.
